Jennifer Sellers

I am a mother of two kids and live in Portland, Oregon with my family. I am originally from the Chicago area. One of my passions in addition to literacy is art, which I studied in earlier years and still dabble in. I earned a Master’s in Education, with a concentration in the Science of Reading from Mount St. Joseph University. My training in multi-sensory explicit, systematic programs recommended for reading, comprehension, and written language skills include Orton-Gillingham and LETRS. These methods of literacy instruction are shown to be highly effective in students with literacy impairments. With my knowledge of dyslexia and related issues, I am able to individualize treatment plans for each student. I am a current member of IDA (International Dyslexia Association), CERI (Center for Effective Reading Instruction) and AOGPE (Academy for Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators). Through AOGPE, I am Associate Certified A/OGA, and through CERI, I am certified as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist, SLDI. I am passionate about working to help students meet their reading and literacy goals!
